Gradutor (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") strictly complies with the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. To ensure secure payment protection for Parents (Demand) and guarantee the rights of Tutors (Supply), we establish the following Refund & Escrow Policy.
Article 1 (Class Cancellation and Refunds for Parents)
(Cancellation Prior to Class) Parents may cancel a reservation through the Platform's features before the scheduled video class begins, in which case a full refund will be processed.
(Restriction on Withdrawal After Class Commencement) The services provided constitute digital content and services. The moment the video class with the Tutor begins (commencement of service provision), the statutory right to cancel within 7 days is restricted pursuant to Article 17, Paragraph 2, Subparagraph 5 of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. Once the class has commenced, the '24-Hour Escrow Finalization Rule' in Article 2 of this policy shall take precedence.
Article 2 (24-Hour Escrow Finalization and Indemnification Rule)
(Protection of Funds) Funds paid by the Parent are held securely in the escrow system provided by PortOne Co., Ltd. and affiliated PGs.
(24-Hour Dispute Window) If the Parent does not submit a 'Report Issue (Dispute)' through the Platform within 24 hours from the exact time the individual class concludes, the class is deemed to have been successfully completed and delivered.
(Finalization of Payout and Company Indemnification) Upon the expiration of the 24-hour window, the funds held in escrow (minus Platform commission) are irrevocably released and settled to the Tutor. Once the funds have been released to the Tutor, the "Company" cannot force a refund under any circumstances and shall bear zero legal liability for any refund claims regarding that class.
Article 3 (Special Provisions on Refunds for Tutor Premium Subscriptions)
The Premium Subscription service (19,000 KRW/month) utilized by Tutors may be fully refunded if canceled within 7 days of payment, provided there is no history of service usage.
(Restriction on Withdrawal of Subscription) However, if the Tutor, after payment, 1) completes the proprietary digital training module, or 2) is granted and publicly displays the "Certified Badge" or "Verified Badge" on their profile, this shall legally constitute the "commencement of the provision of digital content" under the E-Commerce Act.
Therefore, the moment a badge is acquired or training is completed, the statutory 7-day right of withdrawal and refund for that billing cycle is entirely nullified (restricted). Malicious refund requests made after utilizing the Platform to attract clients will be strictly denied.
Article 4 (Penalties and Non-Refundability for Direct Transactions)
As stipulated in the Terms of Service, if circumstantial or direct evidence is discovered indicating that a Parent and Tutor attempted or induced direct off-platform payments to evade the "Company's" commission, both accounts will be permanently suspended immediately. In such an event, any of the User's funds currently held in escrow will not be refunded and will be fully forfeited as a penalty for breach of contract.
